Community Involvement

Dave has lived his life believing that  service to his community is a high priority including at the community, state and at the national level. Dave had the distinct privilege of serving in the Kansas House of Representatives in the late 1970s and early 80’s then in the State Senate in the early 90’s. His grandfather served in the Missouri House of Representatives during his lifetime as did his grandfather serving in the Missouri State Senate during his lifetime.

In addition to the auction and appraisal business, Dave and his wife Wendy have enjoyed many other endeavors. Dave was a private pilot for over 40 years. However the most rewarding part of that time was assisting as a pilot for Angel Flight. This is an organization that was founded to fly people in need for a medical procedure that was not available in their part of the country

Wendy worked as the director of the Parents as Teachers program in the Blue Valley School District for 27 years. She recently retired and was given an awarded by the Kansas legislature for her vision and commitment to children and families in the state of Kansas.  She continues to keep involved with this program on other levels.

Additionally Dave and Wendy enjoy raising honey bees as a hobby. It is enjoyable to watch and work wit them for their survival and contribution to the food chain.  They also enjoy traveling around the US and beyond.
